About Us

Hiero completing the Maya Angelou muralGSOlab is an international arts education center dedicated to the creative life. Located in North Carolina’s Triad region at the East Greensboro Creative Complex for the Arts, GSOlab offers total-immersion creative workshops in East Greensboro along with artist residencies, a gallery and visitors center, in addition to community programs in partnership with local government.

The GSOlab believes progress happens when we support one another. We strive to connect, educate and empower to build a strong Community and Startup Ecosystem. Through the generosity and engagement of our supporters, we are able to offer all of East Greensboro creative services and education; that for too long have been withheld from working-class communities. With these partnerships, we hope to launch opportunities for entrepreneurs & local startups to engage with the greater community in a unique and transformative way.

To assist our community in creating more economic, administrative, and creative access for disadvantaged communities in the greater Greensboro region and beyond.

We aim to bring communities together through creative, development and administrative policies for all people. Creating a bigger table for our community through creative advocacy.

The GSOlab’s mission is to advance the quality of Greensboro’s built environment and bring public awareness to the importance of urban design. The center reveals how design influences quality of life and economic resilience, and advocates for great public places in a livable city. The Center provides programming designed to have a meaningful impact on creative businesses and entrepreneurs in our city.
