The GSOlab’s mission is to advance the quality of Greensboro’s built environment and bring public awareness to the importance of urban design. The center reveals how design influences quality of life and economic resilience, and advocates for great public places in a livable city. The Center provides programming designed to have a meaningful impact on creative businesses and entrepreneurs in our city.

GSOlab is a place-making organization that curates an organic Greensboro urban experience featuring murals and cultural collaborations; to engage with tourists and citizens while adding to Greensboro’s creative economy and promoting year-round tourism. The creative collective; artist, designers, photographers, and creative entrepreneurs strive to make Greensboro an international destination for artists and art lovers alike.

The creative economy is a profession in which design capability is prized and intellectual property is the most common proof of worth, in terms of talent and experience. Contemporary practice is by its nature collaborative. And the more complex the project or the more prolonged the design and construction process, the more individuals may lay valid claim to credit for some part of the work.
